District 7 is the northwest corner of Denver, annexed to create the Denver International Airport. Stapleton Airport, which is being redeveloped into a new neighborhood area, is named after one of the most infamous mayors of Denver. Mayor Ben Stapleton was elected as Denver's mayor largely on the support of the Ku Klux Klan, and served multiple terms.
